A simple relief for stress and anxiety

There is something quite relaxing about doodling. It is as if our thoughts become visible in symbolic ways. Apparently this habit, has little to do with mere representing some ideas in visual, graphic forms. I am more of the view that doodling is closer to enactments of nervous signals in responses to emotions and expressed in abstract creations. It may be similar to the graph in a cardiogram or ECG, where the waves on the chart express some physical activity. Some researchers have found that doodling can be an expression of concentrated attention, for instance when processing ideas or solving problems. I wish my old school teacher knew this instead of thinking that I was getting distracted.
